Description

The X-Tack™ System is intended for approximation of soft tissue in minimally invasive gastroenterology procedures (e.g. closure and healing of ESD/EMR sites, and closing of fistula, perforation or leaks).using tensioned helical tacks. The X-Tack system comprises respective delivery systems for tacking and cinching; tethered stainless steel HeliX tacks; and a PEEK cinch system. 1. The delivery system is composed of biocompatible plastic and drives the HeliX tacks into the tissue. This is replaced with the PEEK cinching system when the defect is ready for compression. 2. The stainless steel HeliX tacks are placed around the defect with the tether providing compression when tensioned and so enabling closure. Compression is maintained using a PEEK cinch which terminates the closing construct. 3. The PEEK cinching system is a delivery system that deploys a PEEK plug/collar to the tethering system to ensure the tissue in the defect area remains compressed.
