Enter the MBS item numbers you're considering billing together for the same patient on the same day. We'll flag known combination restrictions — and tell you honestly when we don't have curated rule data for an item yet, rather than assume it's safe.
Restricted combination
At least one curated rule flags this combination — see details below.
A health assessment item (701/703/705/707) is generally not billed together with a standard GP attendance item (3/23/36/44) for the same patient on the same day — the health assessment is its own, separately structured service. Check the current descriptors for any stated exceptions before billing both.
medium — verify against the current descriptor, as specific same-day exceptions have existed for some patient groups.
This is decision support, not billing advice — it reflects a small, manually curated set of long-standing MBS combination rules, not a complete or live feed of every exclusion in the schedule. An item showing no rule data means we haven't curated that item yet, not that it's safe to combine — always check the current MBS descriptor (shown below when available) before billing. This tool only ever takes the item numbers you type in; it does not read, store, or have access to any practice's real claims.
